   The School of Nuclear Science and Technology and the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Held a Meeting on Cooperation, Exchanging and Joint Construction of the Department of Nuclear Physics

On January 14, the School of Nuclear Science and Technology of Lanzhou University and Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences held a cooperation and exchange meeting and joint construction of the Department of Nuclear Physics in the conference room 1006, Building 5, Institute of Modern Physics. President Yan Chunhua of Lanzhou University, Director Xiao Guoqing of the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and some other leaders of the research institutes and research centers, members of the leading party and government teams and some teachers of the School of Nuclear Science and Technology of Lanzhou University attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Yuan Ping, deputy secretary of the party committee and secretary of the discipline inspection committee of the Institute of Modern Physics.

Xiao Guoqing introduced the basic situation of the Institute of Modern Physics from the aspects of the brief history of the institute's development, the construction of Lanzhou Heavy Ion Accelerator National Laboratory, and the 13th five-year plan. It is hoped that the two sides will focus on the major strategic needs of the country and the needs of local economic development, carry out joint cooperation and exchanges in scientific research, talent training and talent introduction by relying on large scientific installations, and jointly promote the development of the cause of both sides.

Yan Chunhua said during the discussion, the cooperation between the School of Nuclear Science and Technology of Lanzhou University and the Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has its historical origin and it is a good chance which based on the real demands, Lanzhou University would actively support the cooperation of both sides, hope that the two sides to further promote the fusion of "science and education, cooperative education", formed complementary advantages, resource sharing, win-win cooperation pattern. It is hoped that the two sides will keep abreast of the general trend of development in future cooperation, pay close attention to the forefront of science and major national needs, analyze and study talent needs, identify the orientation of development, further give play to the advantages of both sides on the basis of existing good cooperation, tap multiple resources and form a good talent echelon through integration. He suggested the two sides should further innovate their working systems and mechanisms, deepen cooperation through regular communication and implementation of strategic agreements, seek common ground while shelving differences, seek win-win cooperation and jointly serve major national and local needs.

Tang Xiaodong, dean of the Joint Department of Nuclear Physics, Zhang Hongfei, dean of the Joint Department of Nuclear Physics and vice dean of the School of Nuclear Science and Technology, and Long Wenhui, vice dean of the School of Nuclear Science and Technology reported on the work of oint Department of Nuclear Physics, personnel training and scientific research cooperation between the two sides. Participants from both sides had extensive and in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation and better building the Joint Department of Nuclear Physics .
