Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center
Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center
Introduction
The predecessor of the Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center(ETDC) is the teaching laboratory of the Department of Modern Physics of Lanzhou University, it have Five undergraduate basic laboratories, including Nuclear physics laboratory, Nuclear detection laboratory, Basic laboratory of electronics, Nuclear electronics experiment, and the Radiochemistry laboratory. And it were first established at the beginning of the establishment (1958).
At the beginning of this century, according to the development needs of the discipline, the original laboratory was rebuilt and expanded, including updating equipment, adding new sets of experimental instruments, adding experimental projectsetc.; and newly established electrical and electronic laboratories, nuclear technology laboratories, and radiation protection laboratory, microcomputer principle laboratory, power electronics technology laboratory, nuclear medicine imaging laboratory. In addition, there are four open teaching and research laboratories, including tandem accelerator laboratory, low background laboratory, ion source laboratory and neutron physics laboratory. On the occasion of the establishment of the institute in 2006, we established the “Nuclear Science and Technology Experimental Teaching Center”. In 2008, the center was identified as the Gansu Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.
At present, the ETDC has a comprehensive, advanced, open, domestic first-class experimental teaching conditions for undergraduate training and a high-quality teaching team, which can be nuclear physics, nuclear technology, radiation protection and the environment, radiochemistry, nuclear fuel and circulation have more than 60 basic experiments and 16 open experiments. The number of students who benefit from this academic year is 130-160.
Team
The ETDC is managed by Lanzhou University and the School of Nuclear Science and Technology. ETDC has one head of the main leadership of the school, one director, and one director in each laboratory. The staff consists of fixed teachers, experimental technicians and mobile teachers, and the employment system is implemented.
There are 5 fixed personnel in the ETDC, including 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 1 lecturer, 3 experimenters, and 10 months of instruction for experimental teachers.
The ETDC attaches great importance to the construction of experimental teams. Each year, a certain number of experimental teachers are sent to participate in various teaching seminars and basic teacher training organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. At the same time, the experimental guidance ability of teachers is given in the form of irregular expert lectures. Training with the ability to use the latest educational technology.
