Academician Péter Lévai Attended the Cuiying Forum of Lanzhou University
On the evening of November 6, at the invitation of the School of Nuclear Science and Technology, academician Péter Lévai of Hungary was invited to Lanzhou University to give a lecture entitled 'Atto-world under fire -- A small country in big science' at A404, Tianshan hall, Yuzhong Campus. This lecture is presided over by Professor Wang Tieshan.
Academician Péter Lévai is an internationally renowned nuclear physicist. He is an academician of the European academy of sciences and the Hungarian academy of sciences. Currently, he is President of the physics research center (research institute) of the Hungarian academy of sciences and professor of the Hungarian institute of particle physics and nuclear physics. He has made outstanding contributions to the phase structure of strongly interacting substances (QCD), quark-gluon plasma formation (QGP) and other fields.
Academician Péter Lévai shared with us the connection between his hometown Hungary and the silk road, which brought him closer to his classmates. By telling us about his attitude towards science, he encouraged them to maintain their interest in science. Academician Peter also introduced the latest international advances in experimental physics at the amie and arsec scales, and the contributions made by Hungarian scientists. He focused on the collaboration mechanism of large scientific research and showed students the working mechanism of large experimental devices such as LHC.
During the interactive session, students were eager to ask questions. Academician Péter Lévai and his classmates had a heated exchange on some scientific research projects and questions about science itself. Through this lecture, more students can enrich their scientific cognition, so that their scientific perspective can be in line with the international standards, benefit a lot.
